YLA began as a contract Research and Development Company in 1987. Since
then, YLA has been committed to partnering with its customers to offer rapid
development, prototyping and pilot production of composite materials tailored
to each customer's specific needs. This unique team approach
enables a speedy yet thorough process development cycle. Customers
can gauge production worthiness, timelines, and eliminate risk before production
while gaining a realistic evaluation of costs. Companies also able to get
material, data and process information in a timely fashion to meet aggressive
schedules and requirements of higher tier clients.

YLA has a dedicated facility for custom prepregging and research and development: Our R&D
facility offers all standard resin laboratory equipment for compounding and characterizing
polymer systems, including varied reaction and
resin compounding equipment, as dedicated 14"-wide filmer and prepreg
manufacturing line, rheometer, viscometer, DSC, FTIR, HPLC,TGA,
microscoscopy, environmental chambers and full mechanical testing
capability from cryogenic through elevated temperatures. Additional equipment
includes: 64" hot melt prepreg and film, , 50" hot melt prepreg and
film, 24" reverse roll coater, 24" unidirectional tape, 12"
unidirectional tape, and carbon-free prepregging equipment and facilities.
