The compression molding process provides parts that can be highly detailed with thin and thick sections, and molded-in features including threads and inserts. Parts made from YLA BMC are typically used for metal replacement offering significant weight savings with a density half that of aluminum, one-third titanium, and one-fifth steel. With epoxy, cyanate ester, and BMI resin bases, a wide range of end use temperature range from cryogenic to over 480º F is possible, depending on the application, resin choice, and postcure employed. Markets served include satellite, aerospace and defense, commercial aircraft, industrial, consumer, and sporting applications.
