YLA and CCS Composites Awarded AS9100B Aerospace Quality Registration and ISO 9001/2000

Benicia, California, November 6, 2007 – YLA, Inc. and its CCS Composites division announced that their Quality systems have now been registered to the ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100B standards. Both companies had existing systems that were compliant with ISO 9001:1994.

Both registrations were completed in only eight months without any findings, an accomplishment that occurs in a small percentage of company registrations. The AS9100B registration is based on ISO 9001:2000, but with more than 75 additional requirements specific to aircraft/aerospace. "To have completed this Quality program so quickly demonstrates a high degree of teamwork across the two companies," said Chris Breller Quality Manager for YLA. "To have passed the registration audits with no issues is extremely rare."

For YLA and CCS to share a Quality system, the key has been to maintain commonality of systems but also tailor the program to each organization’s specific requirements. The YLA Quality system has also been audited and approved by all major aerospace primes and sub-contractors and has received successful ISO 9001 certification with EU contractors.
